Help Us Shape the Future of Pioneer Days! 🎉

Pioneer Days is a cherished annual tradition in St. Francis, Minnesota, celebrating the city's pioneer heritage and vibrant community spirit. First held in 1964—just two years after St. Francis was incorporated in 1962—this beloved festival has grown into a cornerstone event for residents and visitors alike.

Due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pioneer Days was not officially held in 2020 and 2021. However, the tradition continues strong, and in 2026 we’ll mark a major milestone: the 60th Pioneer Days Celebration!

For the past six decades, Pioneer Days has been held in the month of June. In more recent years, it has taken place in early June or the weekend following Memorial Day—which sometimes falls in late May, as it does in 2025. Historically, the event has often coincided with St. Francis High School graduation weekend. This timing brings in many visitors who are already in town to celebrate with graduating students, helping boost attendance. However, we also recognize that it can be a challenging and emotional weekend for families with graduates.

As we plan ahead for future celebrations, we’re asking for input from the community to help determine the best weekend to hold Pioneer Days. Should it always be the weekend after Memorial Day? The same weekend as graduation? Or the weekend after school lets out?
