Mission Statement

The St. Francis Area Chamber of Commerce serves the needs of its membership in working toward the common goal of a growing, healthy business environment and community as a whole.

Annual Chamber Meeting

During the April 16, 2008, annual meeting held at The Ponds, the results of our recent vote for four new members to the Board of Directors were announced. The new board members are: David Johnson of Highland Money Management, David Langseth, retired contractor, and Larry Anderson, Re/Max Associates Plus. Their three-year term will begin in May. Thank you to our other candidate, Aaron Burquest of First Option Enterprises.

Farewell and thank you to Amy Lazere and Lori Gerhardson, who have served their maximum consecutive term. Jeff Conner resigned earlier in the year.

Also at the meeting, treasurer Dana Kinde presented a budget overview. Thanks to the Expo, the Chamber has grown by more than a dozen members, and now totals 85 members. The major expense of 2007 was the purchase of two city entrance monuments. Input on how to spend Chamber funds is always welcome.

Committee chairwoman Connie Tillman spoke about the Expo. In its first year, all spaces were filled, and some were turned away. It was a great chance to bring in new Chamber members and showcase what the Chamber and community has to offer. The drawing for vendor prizes was held. Winners were: 1 year Chamber membership: Avon, dinner for two at the annual Chamber dinner: North Star Solutions; and a free hole sponsorship at the Chamber golf tournament, Captain's on Long Lake.
